▸How do I play?
Tap to flap. Fly through the gaps. Every gap is a point. Watch for gusts — an updraft lifts you, a downdraft pushes you down, a tailwind speeds everything up. Storms shake the plane; fly steady and they pass.
▸What is the daily challenge?
One run, the same for everyone, every day. Same gaps, same gusts, same storms. Your best score for the day is kept until midnight. Playing it once earns the "daily" stamp.
▸How do extra lives work?
When you crash you can continue up to twice per run. The first continue is free once a day; otherwise it costs watching a short video ad. If an ad is not available (no network connection, or the ad network has no inventory at that moment), you cannot continue by ad that time. Continuing takes 5 points the first time and 10 the second, and drops you safely into the next gap.
▸I watched an ad but didn't get my life
If the ad closed before it finished, the network connection dropped, or there was another issue, you won't receive the life. Make sure you're on a strong Wi‑Fi connection and try the ad again. If the problem persists, email us with your phone model and roughly when it happened.
▸Why am I asked about tracking or to consent to analytics?
To measure how people play Paper Bird and find bugs, we use analytics (Google Firebase) and ads (Google AdMob) powered by Google. We also use Sentry to catch crashes. In the European Union, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, you must consent to analytics and ad personalization before we can collect that data. Elsewhere, analytics and personalized ads are on by default; you can limit ad tracking in your device settings. Crash reporting happens automatically in all regions (under our legitimate interest in keeping the app working).
▸How do I change my ad and analytics choices?
On iOS, manage app tracking in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. On Android, reset your advertising ID in device settings. If you are in the European Union, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you can also open Paper Bird, go to Settings on the start screen, then Privacy options to change your consent to analytics and ad personalization.
▸Where did my streak / stamps / planes go?
Progress is saved on your phone only, so it doesn't follow you to a new device and is lost if the app is deleted. Streaks reset if you skip a whole day. Cloud saves are on our list.
▸How do I unlock more planes?
By flying. Total distance across all your runs unlocks graph paper at 300 m, newspaper at 1 km, receipt at 2.5 km and napkin at 6 km. Open Planes on the start screen to switch.
▸Can I turn off the wobbly lines, storms or sound?
Yes — all of them, in Settings on the start screen. You can also switch to a black & white theme and choose a different pencil colour.
▸The game stutters or feels laggy
Turn off "wobbly lines" in Settings — it's the most expensive effect on older phones. Closing other apps helps too. If it's still rough, tell us your phone model.
